Durban – A Hillary family was injured during a home invasion on Saturday evening.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said four armed robbers, who reeked of alcohol, ambushed the resident just after she drove into her English Avenue property at around 5.50pm.
“One of the suspects used his firearm to smash the driver’s window of her vehicle, while the other three suspects forced open the pedestrian gate of the property and the door to the house. The woman was injured during a scuffle with one of the suspects who robbed her of cellphones, cash, keys and a GPS,” Mathios said.
“The other three suspects entered the house and assaulted the woman’s husband and their teenage son. They ransacked the house, stealing two flat screen televisions and jewellery. They fled in a gold Hyundai Tuscon ND 17059. ER24 paramedics attended the scene and transported the woman together with her husband, who was suffering from high blood pressure, to a local hospital for treatment,” Mathios said.
