A man has been critically injured after he lost control of his car and rolled several times on N3 north near Howick, just before Tweedie off ramp.
The accident happened on Sunday night around 20h50.
A truck driver who witnessed the rollover crash said that the car, all of a sudden, left the road and rolled three or four times before landing back on its wheels in the fast lane.
“I saw the man being ejected through the sunroof,” said the trucker who refused to be named.
The car was extensively damaged and debris was spread all over the road causing the road to be closed off for a while.
An off duty ER24 paramedic caught up in the traffic attended to the seriously injured man while waiting for back up.
On arrival of the paramedics, the man was stabilised and transported to Northdale Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
